I wanted my first post to be a short introduction about me, the blog and what you can expect from my posts!

Firstly, I am passionate about providing support AND knowledge when it comes to mental health. I always believe knowledge is power so I'm hoping this blog can educate as well as support when it comes to issues you may be facing. Having a Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling along with a degree and a Masters, as well as specialising in children and adolescents, one could argue that I thrive in expanding my knowledge. I sometimes wonder if I'll ever say to myself "Ok, you're good. Let's stop there." The truth is when you are so passionate about your profession, I don't think you ever stop exploring.

So what can you expect from this blog?

As with therapy sessions, it's not my job to advise. The same can be said with the blog. If you're wanting answers to any issues you may be having, then it's really best to book in a session. Looking for answers on a blog isn't the same as processing and working through issues with a real life therapist. My aim is to bring up to date topics and discussions related to mental health. As a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, we often discuss up to date and topical issues around mental health. You will also find helpful downloads from time to time, such as mindfulness colouring sheets or useful techniques for certain mental health issues such as anxiety.

Remember...

This blog is a space to discuss topical issues around mental health, it is not intended to be used as a form of therapy. If you would like more information about therapy sessions, either in person or on zoom then please feel free to get in touch. For all emergency mental health matters please contact 999 or the Samaritans.

Let's keep the topic of mental health alive.

Take care
